What changed for people using Bellwether
- Account, broker and environment shown anywhere in the console now come from your book's own connection and the desk's latest account snapshot — never from the serving process's configuration. On a multi-book deployment this closes the last places (status flags and the Overview that reads them, "me", the admin books table, the ops readiness packet's account line and the day-report header) where one book could have been shown another process's broker label; a freshly connected book no longer reads "Simulated" on the admin table until its first tick. Nothing about trading changed.
- Close-pass proposals survive when the desk repairs its own output. When the portfolio manager's end-of-day output put a dollar amount — which sizes a new position — on a close or trim, the whole batch was rejected as invalid and the planned exits were lost with it; the stray field is now dropped from that proposal, the close keeps its share sizing, and the rest of the batch stands. Measured with the live model before shipping: two batches of five runs on the flatten-by-close scenario, 10 of 10 valid where 1 of 5 had failed before, and the one run that reproduced the mistake live was repaired with both closes recorded and graded.
- Five more trading ideas were tested honestly and retired. The alpha factory ran guidance-revision drift, news-reversal, post-earnings drift, peer read-through and earnings-call tone through point-in-time data with costs, a deflated-Sharpe haircut for the 101 configurations now tried, and an independent "kill review" for each. None survived; all five are recorded as retired with their evidence, and none can enter the live blend by construction. The alpha registry records every hypothesis ever tested, alive or dead.
Known gaps / coming next
- The approval card, alerts, live-prices popover, Markets tiles and several copy/layout defects the operator flagged this morning are being rebuilt to render from structured fields in plain words; the landing/console particle field, infinity-loop poster and shell life are being rebuilt next; the quote stream's load shape is being reworked after this morning's reconnects. Each lands through code review and the new Chief Designer review.
