A top bar that fits at every width, after hours included, and help pictures that match the screens
The bar across the top of every screen now sizes itself to the words it shows, so nothing in it is cut off on a tablet-width window or after the market closes.
What changed for people using Bellwether
- The top bar no longer clips on medium-width windows. On a tablet, or a browser window narrowed to about half a laptop screen, current Chrome could cut the search box's hint mid-word and push the controls off their marks. The bar now measures its own text and leaves room for it.
- After hours, your book's name stays whole. When the market is closed the bar says when it opens next. On a laptop-sized window that note could squeeze the book's name down to a few letters. The note now shortens first ("opens Wed 8:30 CT"), and the name is the last thing to give way.
- A shortened market note is still one step away. Move to it with the keyboard or tap it and it shows the full line.
- Help pictures match the screens. Thirty-nine screenshots in the help center were retaken after the recent color and layout changes.
- Eight help captions now say what their picture shows. A few promised more than was in the frame (a formula that sits behind a fold, an action that is not on that card). They were rewritten to match.
- Evidence lists one more study. Whether a wider set of supplier companies helps the rules is registered there, with no verdict yet.
What you may notice
- On a laptop-width window after the close, the top bar reads "Market closed · opens Wed 8:30 CT" where it used to spell out "tomorrow"; on a wide window it is unchanged.
- Nothing changes what the desk buys or sells, and none of your settings move.
Switched on
- Nothing new is switched on. The one-minute brief on a symbol's page stays off; its layout fixes ship with this release so it is ready when it is turned on.
Known gaps and what’s next
- For a guest on a narrow window the market note can read just "Closed" beside the book's name, which could be taken for the book being closed. The wording is being reviewed.
- Overview and the other signed-in screens are still owed a signed-in walk after release.
