Release 55
Read the day's line on the Overview chart with nothing in the way
You can run the pointer along the Overview chart and read every price, because event cards no longer open by themselves.
What changed for people using Bellwether
- Moving over the chart only moves the crosshair. Crossing the line used to open an event card on top of the prices you were reading. A card now opens only from its badge in the row under the chart: hold the pointer still on the badge for a moment, click it, tap it, or press Enter on it.
- Event cards hang below the time labels. An open card sits under the chart and never covers the line. Move the pointer back onto the chart, press Escape or click somewhere else and the card closes.
- Orange rules mark the sections of the side rail. The three short lines between groups of screens are now orange, so you can see where one section ends and the next begins.
- The side rail no longer opens hover notes. The notes used to cover the top of the page you were reading. Each screen's name is printed under its icon, and the row brightens when the pointer is on it.
What you may notice
- A pointer that is only passing over the badges, however slowly, opens nothing. Hold it still on a badge for about half a second and the card opens.
- In a short window, a card you click open is brought fully into view: the page slides up by the little it takes.
- If you scroll the page while a card is open, the card travels with the chart and closes before it would reach the top bar.
- A screen reader still reads the full sentence about each screen in the rail.
- On a phone a tap on a badge still lays the card out under the chart, as before.
Switched on
- Nothing to switch. The changes apply to everyone from this release.
Known gaps and what’s next
- On a phone with the market closed, the chart still shifts up slightly the moment you touch it.
- A card opened by resting the pointer never moves the page, so in a very short window its end can sit below the bottom edge. Click the badge to bring it into view.
- Reaching a badge with the keyboard lights it, and its card opens when you press Enter.
