Release 43
A still console with no moving points
The signed-in console is a still, dark room now: the moving points are gone from its margins, its top bar and Consult.
What changed for people using Bellwether
- No moving points once signed in. Nothing drifts beside the figures you act on any more. The margins either side of the page and the area behind the top bar are plain and dark.
- Consult has a plain background. The points either side of the reading column are gone. The thinking mark still shows while the desk is working on your question.
- Pages end a little sooner. The empty band at the foot of each page existed only to give the points room to turn. It went with them, so long pages are slightly shorter.
- The public pages keep their field. The landing page and the sign-in page still draw their field of fine points, as before.
What you may notice
- The faint glow in the corners and the soft warmth that breathes in the margins on a wide screen are still there. They are light only, with no points and nothing that travels.
- The help answer about the glow behind the pages was reworded to match: it no longer describes points of light that flock together.
- Nothing in this release changes what the desk buys or sells.
Switched on
- Nothing is switched on or off by this release.
Known gaps and what’s next
- A quieter background that follows the desk's state is being built. It gets a designer's review before it ships.
- Under Settings, Display, the Ambient effects description still mentions a few specks of drifting dust. There are none now; the sentence is out of date and will be corrected.
