Closing reviews always saved, Consult answers in seconds, a drawdown-day routine for the desk

What changed for people using Bellwether

• The desk's closing review is always kept. When the Portfolio Manager writes more than a field allows — too many watch bullets, a long note, a long list of answered questions — the extra is trimmed and reported instead of the whole end-of-day review being thrown away. Thesis reviews, lessons and the note the next morning's session reads first now survive a verbose day.
• Consult answers start in seconds. You see what Consult is doing ("Reading positions", "Pulling quotes") within a couple of seconds and the answer appears as it is written, instead of a silent wait for the whole reply. Questions your book snapshot already answers (exposure, cash, holdings, stops, what is waiting) need no data reads at all.
• A routine for drawdown days. When a book steps down through a drawdown level during the session, the Portfolio Manager now follows a fixed procedure: re-read the account and positions, place no new buys on that wake, and make sure every at-risk name is protected before anything else.

What you may notice

• The day report's header names the broker and environment your book actually trades on, not the server's default.
• Admin › Health has a "Consult speed" card: how quickly the first words and the full answer arrived over the last answers, against a bar, once enough answers are on record.
• While Consult is writing a table or a code block you see one quiet progress line in its place ("Drawing a table, 3 rows so far…") rather than a frozen answer.
• If the live connection drops mid-answer, Consult says "reconnecting" and falls back to checking for the finished answer; nothing is lost.
• On a phone, Consult's message footer sits above the tab bar and long screen labels wrap inside the bubble.
• When something the desk wrote had to be trimmed, the session's activity line says which fields and by how much.

Known gaps / coming next

• Faster Consult start-up from a pool of ready processes is built but stays off until the operator enables it on the Consult service; today each answer still pays about a second of start-up.
• Cheaper desk sessions (shared daily market brief, skipped no-change check-ins, batched signal reads), the daily AI budget that scales with the number of books, and the console-wide typography clean-up are built on their branches and follow once they are re-merged onto this release.
• On books with four or more positions, roughly one drawdown wake in ten can run out of its small per-wake budget and stop safely before finishing; the budget is under review.
